My story began when I was just 14 years old, the first time I met Yazid. I remember how gentle he was, and how we spent hours riding our bicycles together. It was the first time in a long while that I truly enjoyed myself. At that time, life wasn’t easy—my father had passed away just a year before. But meeting Yazid brought me light, comfort, and moments of happiness that I will never forget. Yazid always had a dream about handmade Moroccan rugs. He spoke with so much passion about how each rug is unique, how every Berber symbol carries a deep meaning, and how much patience and energy are woven into every piece. I was fascinated by the way he looked at a rug—not just as something beautiful for the home, but as a piece of art and heritage. Through his eyes, I discovered that every knot, every line, and every color tells a story. A rug is not just fabric and wool—it is love, tradition, and meaning woven together. With time, Yazid and I grew very close, and that is when our shared dream truly began. Of course, life hasn’t always been easy—we have faced many ups and downs along the way. But no matter the challenges, we never gave up. Our love, patience, and determination kept us moving forward. And little by little, our dream took shape—what began as a vision in our hearts became The Berber House. Today, we are proud to share with the world the beauty of authentic Moroccan rugs, handmade with soul and tradition by women artisans in the Atlas Mountains. Each piece is created with natural wool, vibrant colors, and Berber symbols that connect us to our history. When you bring a rug from The Berber House into your home, you are not only decorating—you are inviting heritage, authenticity, and love into your space, while also supporting the artisans who keep this tradition alive.Â
